Camphire GAIN Dog Show partnering with My Canine Companion

One of the highlights of this year’s Camphire International Horse Trials and Country Fair which takes place from Wednesday 24th to Sunday 28th July on the picturesque Camphire Estate, Cappoquin, Co. Waterford, is the GAIN sponsored Dog Show which will be held on Sunday 28thJuly at 2pm.  This year GAIN Pet Nutrition have partnered with My Canine Companion.

My Canine Companion trains dogs to assist children and young adults living with Autism. They are committed to helping children with autism and their families gain independence, companionship and safety through the provision of highly trained and skilled Service Dogs. As a small organisation, My Canine Companion provides an outstanding, customised and individualised service, which meets the needs of each individual client.

Their Service Dogs are fully trained to the standard of Assistance Dogs Europe, (ADEu).  Each Service Dog costs the charity just over €10,000 to train. The period of training covers the two years from birth right through to graduation as a Service Dog.  These Service Dogs make dramatic differences’ in the quality of life for children and adults with Autism and their families. Not only do our dogs assist them physically, but these special dogs also become the child’s best and in some cases, only, friend.

The GAIN Dog Show takes place in Camphire on Sunday, 28th July, at 2pm.  The variety of classes should once again prove a huge hit for all the family showcasing all breeds, shapes and sizes.  All prizes are sponsored by GAIN Pet Nutrition and all money raised from the show goes directly to this very worthy cause. My Canine Companion will attend on the day and participate in the judging.
